    Dear All,

Would like to know where to get locally LED lighting set with auto dimmer and will be suitable for a 5 x 2 x 2.5 planted tank?

I heard alot about LED light can't sustain the growth of a planted tank but in some website in USA they are already selling these planted LED lights.

    Any recommendation or advice?

Thank you, but I don' think the maxspectusa LED lights could be strong enough for a planted tank.

Been to website and it stated the light spectrum are gear towards reef and not planted tank.

You know if there any place where I could get planted LED powerful enough for high light requirement plants?

Don't think local market has such LED planted lights yet. else there won't be so people modifying their normal lights to LED.

o.. I remember at Aquarama they also have those 50W led mounted in circular head sink. They say it suppose to replace the 150W MH. I can't remember the company name though but I have the photos

Those maybe Phillip cannon LED, you can actually find out the power and go Sim Lim and ask for similar ones. Alternatively you can google online.

Re: Recommendation on LED Lighting for 5ft Planted Tank

Maxspect led lightset can be customised to your preferred light spectrum. The led bulb can be removed and changed, unlike other brand which do not have this function. I have been using the 2nd generation Maxspect and currently have the 3rd generation, awaiting some free time to install it. However, the led bulb needs to be cooled when in operation as heat will degrade the led bulb. Personally, I do not believe in the thousand of hour life span of the led bulb as I have a few bulb which, let's just say, did not survive past 1 year in operation. Getting a led lightset that is able to have the ability to inter change individual led bulb is a plus.
