You comm them?? Well from what you said they breed before when you keep them all together??? From my experience they will breed anywhere as long as they find the spawning ground entrance small enough only for the female to go in...
Apisto keepers does the colour of apisto caves play a part in which cave they choose? All along my caves are old tiny flower pot this time I am using natural driftwood cave & green cups but the apistos are not using them at all. I have Agassi "fire red", elizabethae & borrelli opal in the same 2ft tank.

Breeding Apisto inca and Apisto guttata...
Yes, they are comm together in a planted tank. But last time the opal pair was in another tank by themselves they did spawned once. Never knew that the pair do not have to be together only the female need to be in the "cave". I was worried that the caves c328 selling are too small so I never buy them some of the caves are only tubes seems like only meant for plecos.
Actually you can use flower pot too... They will not breed in there... They will choose the most Dark and narrow place to spawn from my experience... As mine sometimes just spawn under the wood or plant which is at the cramp coner of the tank...

I am trying to get these http://www.cichlidbreeding.com/products.php?cat=11
I placed 5 Types of caves in my tank for my pelvichachromis 'moliwe' to choose from. They finally picked one and spawned. Prior to that, they just kept digging in the soil and the tank landscape changed drastically!
