Can those white feeders block (seashell shape) be used to feed goldfish?

Hi All

I would be going to vacation soon, so I was wondering if those feeders block (white hard solid dry food) purchased from petshop can be used to feed the goldfish and tetra before they die of hunger when I'm return in a week's time?

Any advise?

yes,white solid block( holiday food) can be used, i used them many times already.. but if i am not mistaken max is 1 week for a big sized block... for short vacation is not a problem. but if your vacation is more than a week, then have to consult other masters here.. the max vacation i ever have is 8-9 days.. they are still alive and well when i come back. no cloudy water..no death..maybe i am lucky...LOL

Important Notes: do a wc, clean up filter before vacation. so at least filter can filter the extra diluted food/poo and there will be less chances for stuck filter and sudden ammonia spike etc during your vacation. Btw, Gold fish are poo masters...

if you have extra budget,you can invest on an auto feeder...

Bro, it will be good if you have a reliable friend or relative to feed and monitor them every other day or best still every day. I used to pay my cousin to feed and water change for me when i was overseas for 3 weeks. Still those vacation food are quite reliable so should not be a problem to you. If possibe do a water change too just before you go.
