Good old bleach and water plus lots of dechlorinator.
Soak the diffuser in a bleach solution till the ceramic disc is white, then soak the diffuser in a dechlorinator solution till there's no bleach smell left when you bring it up to your nose.

I've read online that bleach can be neutralised by placing it where there is sunlight for a few hours.

Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.

Dont use bleach. There's a simple method without removing the co2 tube also. Just soak them in Seachem Excel, dont need to remove the co2 tube, leave them outside in a cup with excel for about 5mins, when you place them back in the tank, you'll see them gone in 2-3 days, cos they die. The Seachem excel can recycle back and put it into the tank, nothing goes to waste.

Thanks for the advice bro. I'll try the excell method first.![]()
When I was still using glass diffuser, I used a 1:1 bleach / water solution to nuke those algae. A good 10 minutes soak, followed by flushing with water, then soak in water with plenty of anti-chlorine.
But I like Adrian's suggestion of using Excel, particularly the 'nothing goes to waste' part.![]()
