I have never use any chiller in any of my planted tank, as I always stay low tech.

when u choose a chiller, do u choose a chiller that is just nice to cool ur tank to the temp or will u go for a stronger chiller? As stronger chiller use lesser power to chill the tank. So in a long run, it's better for the chiller, maybe save electric bill?

Example like a hyundai getz and a nissian gtr, both running at 90km/h. Getz maybe will run at 3000rpm out of 4500rpm, but the gtr maybe running at only 2000rpm out of 6000rpm? So the one using lesser rpm will last longer?

    Get an overpowered one.
    Shorter kick in time.
Not so taxing on your chiller.
    Save on electricity bill.
Next time upgrade tank can transfer.

There is to just power. Let's say u got a 2ft tank running on eheim 2213. Which is ok for a 2fter. But u get a overpowered 1/10 chiller. The requirement flowrate is at least 660lph but your 2213 is has only 400lph which means u need to upgrade your filter to match your chiller. Check the required flowrate and the flowrate of your filter. If not you be wasting money buying a new filter.
Having a less lph filter for the chiller lead to incorrect temperature reading and also more kick in due to incorrect temperature reading
