PL type should suffice. Those Kenis 36/55Watts PL should be ok
Advice from boss Felix
Without CO2 go for either 36W PL or 24W T5HO. Brand wise does not really matter, depend on your budget
Kenis 36/55Watts PL, 36W PL, 24W T5HO is the tube name is it?
how many tube is required?
one is enough for non CO2
normally for 2 feet low tech is around 1-2wpg which is roughly 1x T5 24watts to 2x T5 24watts... normal low tech plants should be no problem. my PL light failed me miserably, so i don't recommend PL... since not much price difference
T5 is slim type Fluorescent tube
PL is Plug in Light tube/bulb( those power saving type)
there are a lot of brands, have to depends on your budget..
Check out my Blog on planted tank, good for newbies ( i am lazy to retype all the info i know, so please click and read below link... i hope you don't fall asleep while reading)

Thanks alot for the explaination.
is T5 the same as T5HO?
Mine is a 2ft X 1ft X 2ft(height) tank. Is it okay?
As for T5, 6500k or 3000k? which one should i get?
Is there any color for T5 lighting?
T5 mostly is sunlight bright meaning white. my T5 is 39 watt per tube 12000k. Not sure about lesser watt type.
T8 in pink.

T5 is not the same as T5HO. The HO stands for high output.
You can't go wrong if you go NA and ask for an Aquazonic 2ft light set, 4 x 24W T5HO tubes in an aluminium housing. You can remove 3 tubes and just leave one in the housing for your non-CO2 tank. That way in the future if you decide to change tanks you can go up to 4 x 24W.
Get 6500K.
can i mixs with 3000k for full spectrum?
i jus thinkin of getting a 2 X 24W T5HO. What is the price range for both 2X and 4X ?
is the 39watt per tube 12000k better?
which is the best?
Plants need 5500k to 8000k for optimum growth.

No idea about 3000K, been out of the hobby for too long. I've only used 6500K to 8000K.
No idea about the price range too. I've always stuck with a 2ft tank, so I've only bought light sets for 2ft tanks.
39W light tubes sounds like an odd size to me. Usually they're 36W PL tubes or 24W T5HO tubes for 2ft tanks.
39 watts is for 3 ft though.
Better you get 2 x 24w T5 thats for 2 ft . Those double tube ones with fixture . Seaview selling $40. Other place maybe cheaper, have to find out yourself.![]()
