Re: Coral red pencil + galaxy rasbora

Some info on both fish, maybe you can compare it and try.

Common names: Celestial Pearl Danio / Galaxy Rasbora

    Family: Cyprinidae

    Origin: Southeast Asia

    Maximum size: 4cm <1"

Care: This is a relatively easy fish to care for, It has proven to be quite hardy and tolerant of a wide variety of water conditions. It should be kept in average community parameters: soft, neutral to slightly acidic water conditions and kept at a temperature of around 26C (78.8F). As a small fish you should choose tank mates with care that are not likely to eat the fish or ones that are boisterous. This may cause stress leeding ot inadvertant injury of the fish.

Common names: Nannostomus mortenthaleri - Coral Red Pencilfish

    Family: Lebiasinidae. Subfamily: Pyrrhulininae

Origin: Known only from parts of the Rio Nanay, Peru

    Maximum size: 1.2" (3cm).

Compatibility : It's peaceful with other species, but does not make an ideal community fish due to its small adult size. It's easily intimidated by larger tankmates and will not compete well for food with them. It is also the ideal snack for many fish often kept in community aquaria, such as angelfish, gouramis and larger catfish. Keep it alone or in a community of other tiny species, such as pygmy Corydoras, other similarly-sized characins, or small freshwater shrimp. It also makes a fantastic dither fish for many species of dwarf cichlid.
It's best kept in a group of at least 6 fish. Rival males are territorial with one another, but in a heavily-planted tank any serious damage can usually be avoided.

    Hope it helps

Thanks bro edw7636, i did some search and the info was similar to what you provided. It mentioned the coral red is peaceful with other species thus I thought of keeping the galaxy rasbora together as both the sizes are similiar.

If you intend to keep the coral red, make sure you have a small group. They may bully each other to death in time to establish a pecking order. This is common with pencilfish when kept in small numbers. They should co-exist peacefully with Galaxy Danios but it's always good to observe the fishes interacting whenever you have the time.

C328 carries them quite frequently, if you stay in the west that is.
