Dymax IQ5 Nano Tank and Planta Soil

Hi

I have an iQ5 nano tank with gravel substrate and populated with 2 very active golden algae eaters and a group of saepre, neon and gold light tetras. *I am thinking of changing the substrate to the Planta soil as it looks nicer and I reckon it would be better for the plants. *Also, I am thinking of keeping it simple, ie without the need for additional CO2 etc and just using the tank's built in filtration system.

Do you have any advice, please?

There are plants that does not req co2 and even low light will suffice.

Which plants would you like to keep? Maybe the bros here who is more expertised on plants can help you out.

Ps. I hope the golden algae eater is not the chinese golden algae eater else when it start to grow certain size it will not target algae anymore and move on to slime on fishes.

Thanks. Currently, I have a fair bit of plants consisting of the long grasses and the plants that have a lily pad kind of leaves which the algae eaters love to balance upon which I like to keep. How do you tell if the golden algae eaters are the Chinese variety? Thanks.
