    Hi guys,

Remember the new CO2 diffusor that we saw in Aquarama 03? Here's a closer look.

Here's a picture of the new diffusor in packaging..

Nothing fancy, not special box presentation like ADA. One would almost mistake it for some budget offering unless you look carefully.

The ceramic plate is protected with a stainless steel mesh. You can see there's liquid the mesh as there's a bubble. It's some kind of liquid and rather slow flowing. I'm not sure if it's some kind of gel or water.

Overall look of the diffusor will show that it's actually made of 4 parts.

Once hooked up, you can can see that the bubbles come through the diffusor as really fine bubbles.

The good thing about this diffusor is that you can just use any type of CO2 tubing, whether soft or hard type, unlike the normal glass diffusors.

This product is still not available in Singapore yet. Last heard, Qian Hu is still considering whether to bring them in.

    Cheers,

It's retailing for 9800 Japanese yen (as indicated on the price tag on the first picture). Works out to be about S$170 per piece.

There's no need to detach. Just bleach the whole thing.

Neat looking, no doubt about it ... but ~170SGD is kinda [] .

I hope some innovative (read: copycat) local/taiwanese company can come up with a similar product soon .

In my opinion the innovation is in the mysterious liquid inside that somehow enables the co2 bubbles to be broken up into very fine size. Other than that everything seems as per a traditional ceremic diffusor. Given time our Taiwanese friends should be able to come up with something similar.

    Hi Darkkon

Its not mysterious liquid. Its our tank water that seeps into the void. In time it will be displace by our co2 injection.

according to the reviewer the liquid is "rather slow flowing" and comes with the packaging, so it is not just your tank water.
