A recent out break of ich killed 5 of my goldies. Left 3 currently. Only this oranda still ich-sick though I treated him heavily with salt. Any more ideas?

Have you tried putting in hospital tank to treat it yet? ( Hospital tank also have to be cycled )

Salt is ok but not too much. Salt dont evaporate like water do. Goldfish is a hardy fish so you might want to do a major cleanup of your main tank while treating the infected fish.

Ps. Get a well known brand medication for ich, whitespot etc. These kind of things happen on and off, just like we human get common colds. Dont wait till holiday fishshop closed then worry about medicine.

    Thanks edw for your reply.

I previously put in a small hospital tank for treatment. I doses heavily with salt and melafix but seems it does not have any reaction. My hospital tank is using the same water as the main tank but I does medication heavily in it.

With regards to the major cleanup you mentioned, I normally just use my siphoner to suck the water and waste out. 50% bi-weekly. Do you have another methods to recommend?

Any good brand and recommendation for ich or fugus removal?

    Re: Ich infected oranda

For your hospital tank. Do a 50% wc with getting any water from main tank. And 20 to 30% per 2 to 3 days. Don't add salt anymore as you already dose heavily.

For best medication I'm not so sure really if there is such thing exist. But refrain from buy those $3 and below ones should do fine I guess.

For your main tank. Is it possible to take a photo of it as other bros can help spot any unusual do and don'ts.

    Regards

Hmm. The lower portion of the picture qualities seems corrupted or some kind.

You might wanna check on it first cause can't really see that well.

From the picture what I can suggest is change the sponge in your filter. But dont touch the stone underneath. It contain bb and if you wanna reuse the sponge, make sure clean it in tank water.

Just keep it clean cause goldfish are known messy and huge poop makers too.
