Got a big shock this morning when I found that my chiller(which has been running for a week) is running at 16degree celcius when the temperature is set at 25degree with -+0.5degree celcius!

I press the reset button and it show that the default temperature is 25degree celcius and the chiller went to sleep as it is cooler than 25degree.

What might could have cause this change?

I added a time controller for the light which is sharing the same multiple sockets yesterday. This is my only suspected culprit.

Anyone here has similar issue before?

It is still under warranty but I will have to bring it back to Thailand!
It is new and only been running for a week.

I will check the temperature again when I get back home this afternoon as it seem to recover when I pressed the reset button.
Am worry about the fish and shrimps inside with the sudden temperature changed.
The Otos looks sluggish but the shrimps don't seem to mind.
I did not switch on the light as I do not want a dramatic increase in temperature to shock them further.

As I said, the only changes that I made yesterday is to add a timer for the light to switch off at 11PM yesterday night,
Could a power cut cause the same problem as well as Cambodia is very prone to power cut.

chiller controller board or circuit board is rather sensentive is best to turn of the power on the on off switch rather than have a timer to cut of the supplier... Anyway turning on and off too often on a chiller will sooner or later cause some problem to the circuit board.

The timer switch is for the light and not for the chiller.

Okie you're suspecting the multi-plug which is unlikely. Most probably is your internal thermostate probe. My pass issue with Resun 280CL is the internal probe temp on control read 27 temp in tank read 17. The probe is plastic casing and i think if there a QC issue the water might have sip in.

At the moment, the water temperature is rising slowly.
It was 16 this morning! and is now 22.5 and on the way to 25.
I set it to -+1, we should see how it this evening when it hits 26.1.

Chiller is working fine now and maintaing at 25 degree +1.
Maybe the cleaning lady knocked on it this morning.
    Anyway, we should see.
If it happened again then something must be very wrong.

Thanks for all everyone who reply to this post.
