hi guys, recently i had purchased the mosura TDS meter pen and ph pinpoint monitor.
my ph reads 6.4 but my tds reads 611ppm.
i just rescape from 2ft full ada setup planted tank to crs with topup of gex shrimp soil on top of my ada sand with some lava rocks attached with mini pellia and mini fissiden. i had remove the all the previous Glusso and all plants .

my ro/di water read 5ppm on the TDS meter .

how can i remove the horrifying reading .

i had 20 a grade crs, 15 orange shrimp and some fire red shrimp.

Did u calibrate your tds meter?
What u can do is more water change with distilled water. A little every alternate days will bring tds down

Is it possible to have high Tds but gh remains at 4-5?

Does this indirectly mean water contain other elements?

What kind of effect on shrimps with acceptable gh but high Tds?

I am currenty experiencing similar scenario as ts also.

    Hope to learn from everyone.

I did not calibrate the tds. I tried on the packet of water that I bought the 10 crs, it reads 139. My Gh was around 4 or 5. Thanks guys, I will try to change water these few days.

It was mentioned once before gh only measure ions in the water with a +2 charge..while tds measures all the ions..it could be that ts did dose ferts or other additive of sorts that might have raised the tds ..

Whatever you do, do it gradually. Be careful not to shock your lifestock with large parameter changes.

Get the NaCl solution to calibrate for accuracy. Approx $10+ I think
