I like your branchy DW. You bought your borelli from Hong Yang? Saw one piece similar there last week.

How's the apisto stock at aquaOne? BTW, any bus to get there?

The female agassizi looks like a male fish to me.

the stock there are good. worth to visit them.
there is no bus to aquaone.. i walked all the way in. it is a indeed female agassizii as it's color not as nice as the male.
anyway, my male agassizii too fierce till i need to seperate it out from the female and the lonely male borelli.
both of their tails and fins are broken. sigh

The male aga is very fierce to the female may be because your female is actually a sneaker.

i see, if that so, i will need to bring the "female" back to exchange back.
but somehow i observe that the "female" had a very big and round stomach.

the female agassizi should be smaller in size, less colorful and the tail should be round instead of the spade shape.

The pics of my female agassizi red, for your reference

Re: my final apisto setup after cloudy water was finally clear

had read up the link that you show, somehow the "female" photo that i took look bigger in size as she stay nearer to the glass wall. The male had been changing the "female" for days till i seperated the male to isolated breeding box as he was too fierce for the "female" and my lonely male borelli. I did realise that my "female" does not like to hide inside the cave i got for them.
Is it a sign of the agassizii pair ready to mate? from what i see, the "female" tummy is real big.

Dont judge the sex by stomach, look at their finnage. Mature agassizi male has very obvious spade shape tail and female has round shape. Also, the female tends to be much smaller than the male. Also, less colorful and no bluish shine on their body.

cheers i also bought my apistos ftom hong yang

when female ready to mate they will turn bright yellow coat out of the normalities. then you will see the male trying to spin its tail on the female face . then they are ready. the yellow coat will last very long to almost the fries hatching. during this time the male will hide and on the top of tank trying to get its rests and healing as its spade fins will be gone

some pics to share just fyi(sorry for blur pics)

nice, not sure is that a female or not, but the "female" color is sure not as colourful as the male and the "female" is smaller size comparing with the male.
will moniter the "female" on bloated stomach. Thanks for advice

sad to update that my apistogramma borelli male had die on me due to an open wound at its body.
Bought a pair of new apistogramma agazzisii flemengo.
but once i put into my tank, the male flemengo start to fight with both my double red pair.
decide to put double red in my satelite breeding box.

Male apisto behaves like Male Betta, as in they will fight. Try not to put them together.
