    Hey peeps,

Any good recommendation for carpet plant for small low tech shrimp tank? Im looking for low carpet plants, around 1 inch max height.

    Tank specs:
    1.5 feet
    led light
    gex slim hof
excel florish, dymax flora, dymax iron
    advanced soil (plants version)

Im thinking of either some sort of carpet grass, or glosso, but have some concerns:
    * people say carpet grass is hard to grow?
    * im unsure which type of carpet grass to choose...I want the fine short desne ones, but I see many that grow long and sparse instead.
    * glosso looks nice, but i dont know how to identify them in the LFS. I have only seen pics of them in established tanls, but i dont know how they look like when packaged for sale in the LFS (i ususally go c32

What is your led wattage? I have never use led lights before but for plant growth, you will need a minimum wattage for healthy growth and spread. Off hand, I remember " ah pek" ( elantine triandra )plant being fairly easy to grow. However, if insufficient lightings, they tend to grow upwards.. If sufficient, they tend to spread fairly quickly and in no time u will need to trim down during maintenance ..cheers

simple LED light may not supply enough for lush growth.
I would suggest simple low requirement plants like nana or java ferns.
Of course there is the options of moss tied to SS mesh.

Likewise, it does not harm to try glosso and APP, if they grow upwards you should get the hint.
