    Hi all,

I notice quite a few people are using distilled water to top up or do water change(if water change really necessary or just top up is enough?). Therefore, I would like to create a thread to let all the experienced people share with each other where they usually get their distilled water and how much it cost.

    NTUC selling "LIFE" $0.95 for 2 * 1.5L
    Giant selling " "Spritzer" $4.99 for 5.5L

Ya!!! sia. I bought 2 carton from them after work. scam sia!!! 70cents. fairprice or ntuc either one. sell LIFE distill water for 47.5cents. Since distill water is pure water with no minerals. does it make a differences for people that drink them?
    pure or purer ar? lol
I think in singapore unless you can get the supplier to supply you with never ending of distill water for a cheaper prices. I think LIFE distill water cheapest liao. not many types of distill water around. Unless you got alot of tanks to do WC. 1 bottle 47.5cents, I think is cheap enough. 1 Month like 6dollar if you use 1 carton. but got people with lots of tank and big tanks might be using more. so subjective to person.
Just my thought la. PEACE OUT !!!!

I think you need to reset your ph meter as life cannot be so acidic.

The change in pH is caused by CO2 in the air, dissolving in the water to form an acid, which lowers the pH over time. Since the distilled water is almost pure, it does not have the buffering capability to withstand this effect. This is why you have to add in some minerals to the distilled water to make it suitable for tank usage.

Agreed...otherwise it might cause your soil to expire faster...

What sort of minerals is recommended Stormhawk? I've been using Life distilled water and my pH drop to 5.8. But the shrimps aren't looking too badly affected though. I'm keeping fire yellow.
