regulator help!

hi all, jus set up my 1st planted tank but having problems with the co2 injection. when open the regulator can c bubbles in the counter... but after a while it will jus die down. any1 got any advice? thx a lot!

It is hard to adjust without a secondary needle valve installed with your regulator. You have to patiently, slowly and carefully turn the knob (may take several days and incur some fatal mistakes) until the desired CO2 ppm is achieved. I stress, CO2 ppm not bps.

Are you using a MANUAL VALVE? please don't attach a needle valve to it..

hahahah! I just did and got a ringing ear for 5min!

I attached the needle valve I bought from Lou... to my CO2 tank... stupid me should have known that with 1000PSI no known plastic tube can hold the pressure!

It started off well and I can control the flowrate precisely! after about 30sec the tube burst leaving my ear ringing for 5min![] Stupid me![]

I think this is a common problem with manual regulator.

It usually take a few days before stabilizing at the desired flow rate.

Maybe, one extra thing that you can do is to check for any leakage due to poor connection of the manual regualtor with your CO2 cylinder. Maybe, you can use some white tape. If there is a slight leakage, it will be even more difficult to get the flow rate that you want.
