What is your ph lowering technique?

I have a question as stated above.

I want to lower my ph to 5.7!

I use active soil: akadama
I use osmosis water
I use airfilters
I use peat

Results maximum of 6.3

What do you guys advise?

Last time I checked gh 5. Currently Ph drop to 5.6. So scary. I just put a airstone to areate the water

If i want to lower ph a bit, i use ketapang leaves, lower a lot (like to ph 4-5) use peat moss.

For me the safest way I did before is to do water change with distillted water as I measure the distillted water is about ph 6.5 to 7.and distillted water has zero gh so yeah

It is a bag of fine brown fibers . Which is like a big tea bag of fine ketapang fibers very concentrated used to put in the filter

I don't know if this is off topic but recently i was thinking of using the calibration buffer solution for digital ph pen to bring down the ph.
However, i have no idea if it will kill my shrimps inside so i did not try it.

Anyone tried this before?

Bro zack, this thought actually stems from the use of soil to bring down the ph of the water. So o was thinking there must be some chemical inside the soil that buffers the ph to 6+. So i thought that why not use a 6.5 buffer to keep the water at 6.5 ph? Its more stable and does not require a frequent change of soil if ur tap water has a ph of 8.0 like mine.

Why not you give it a try and give ask a head up... would love to have a alternative way.... Than i can drop out or sell away all this mosura ph down,Softwater,Super peats moss.... Maybe i can even do soiless tanks.

Instead of getting creative, why not just use the LIFE brand distilled water that you can buy at your nearest NTUC? 2x 1.5L bottles are 95cents. I've bought 24 bottles on 3 separate occasions. The first recorded a 6.3 pH, second 6.0, and third (only a few days ago) 6.1 pH. As you can see, the pH is very very low.. lower than your pH buffer solution. Start doing weekly water changes (more if u want faster results) purely using distilled water and you'll start to see your pH stabilizing to a lower pH within a few weeks..

i rather use artificial vinegar for cooking to make my water acidic instead of using the calibration liquid.
