Its algae, fissiden does not have root

Hi, bought couple weeks ago a few large US fissiden from a bro in this forum and put in my algae fee tank and it seem to develop more algae (TBC) that the fissiden, can only manage to see a few tinny young shots.
Not sure what algae or just the roots of the fissiden? otherwise may have to throw them($) away :-(

Its algae, fissiden does not have root

thanks Robert for the algae ID.

Try putting less food. your shrimp will eat them up.
You can also try dosing with excel
Had tried excel on fissidens, but in the end fissidens did not survive. Suspect that I did not dilute excel enough, maybe fellow hobbyist can advise on the correct dilution needed...
use yamato shrimps... if you want them to clear fast use around 10 pieces. do take note they will prey on shrimps moulting also so remember to catch them out after they do their job..
Too much of a fish SIAO to quit fish keeping/fishing..

do u mean they will eat other shrimp that just moulted
yes. spotted that they ate my fire red shrimp..![]()

Don't feed them for 1 or 2 day, i think shld be fine. When they're hungry, they would clear the algae.
