Unable to choose shrimps

I went to Aquastar today to get some male sakura shrimps. But when the boss came , he didn't allow me to net myself without giving a reason. Anyone knows why Aquastar doesn't allow netting of your own shrimps?

Now I have all females in the tank.

bro, go to y618 to buy shrimp ..its cheaper... note that aquastar shrimp tank has planaria..i seen they attack shrimps for several times already....

I guess for a few reasons. Their shrimp tank is so small they are afraid you might dropped it or you might accidentally killed some shrimps in the cause of netting some.

Yeah Y618 is cheaper. Fire reds $2 while Aquastar sakura is $2. I didn't see any planaria in the tank though. But I still don't get why I can't net my own shrimps.

The shrimp tank cannot be dropped. Is actually one long tank partitioned and the tank couldn't be moved at all. The way he net the shrimps more scary.

hmm then you shouldn't have bought from him... from what i observed. in forum buy/sell as compared to LFS the quality is always much much better as these are self bred shrimps and not from some unknown source but yes, it certainly makes no sense in not letting buyers self net. if they are in bags its understandable but since inside tank best to let buyer choose and net as happy buyer and happy seller

Yeah I know. Lucky I buy two shrimps only. Lol. I was actually waiting for someone to sell fire red/sakuras in the marketplace and someone living near me , but could not find so I decided to go to LFS instead. They didn't have sakuras in bags. Neither did Y618.

Bro, you can ask y618 to bring in shrimps for you..they sold off fast... or you can net FR in the tank yourself... although those in bags are around 10% cheaper

at aquastar, I saw the planaria sticking to a shrimp while the shrimp trying to swimp away frantically... their shrimp selection is limited..and more expensive..never buy from them though..

They had a lot of the shrimps when i went yesterday. But they didn't have fire reds in bags. Do they charge for netting the shrimplets too? Since their so small.

couple months ago i saw y618 shrimps tank have like 3-4times more planaria than shrimps inside.. spoiled my day lol... went so far for a overall good reptutation shop and saw that haha... will stick to clementi ones..

Now that is a normal sight for c328. Why I almost alway never buy fish from their mix tanks. Hard to net, need to quarantine.

But shrimps good stock.

I still think the FR from Colourful is still the most value for money but too bad it closed down last month. But uncle still accept order if you call him I think.

haha dead fishes are quite common sight for big lfs. if you want quality ones just have to know exact timing when fishes will come in so that can grab them when they just arrived

yeah. I didn't quarantine the fish I bought from polyart and lost 3 of the fish that I bought and some neons.

I wouldn't buy fish that just arrived at the store. The fishes are already stress from the transportation to the store then being netted out and transported back to my tank , less likely to survive a week. Experienced it. Twice.

Yes uncle richard is still selling FR and yellows and CRS, just make sure to call to check for stock. He said if the stock is not nice, he won't take from his supplier. He stays in Jurong West so if you want to view the shrimps first, you will have to travel all the way there...
