Which Type of Sand/Soil Is Best For Shrimp?

Hi All

I am going to shift my hobby from rearing fish to shrimp. Can anyone tell me which soil/sand to use as the base for my fish tank, as it look very empty with the glass tank. Of course, I would prefer something that won't cloud the water and easy to maintain especially when doing the changing of water.

Beside the external water filter pump, what else is needed for rearing shrimp as a beginner? Which type of shrimp is easy to rear and won't die easily?
