If you truly love Nature, you will find beauty everywhere. - Vincent Van Gogh
- Moss
- Less common-looking java ferns like Tropica and Windelov
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
I wanted to tie X-mas moss but somehow the ones I have don't seem to grow properly.

If the wood is not too tall, you can try stacking some other branchy wood. This can create effect of having some branches overhanging in midwater. The joint does not necessary be tied/nail or fastening. You can hide by putting moss, java ferns etc which will grown nicely and naturally in a few weeks time.
If you notice the trees by the road sides, most/some have chunks of ferns at the branching out portion. Java fern can be used to recreate that feel at the joint.

Hmm.. I like your line of thoughts.. it just inspired me to think about it.----------------

I think that is a good idea too. Another possible way is to attach small branches on the side.----------------

Silicon them perhaps... or use cable tie. Any others?

I am also thinking about half-bury some small "roots" just underneath the tree trunk.
You can screw them on with a long stainless steel screw.
