It's look a bit like chocolate shrimp but seems different. Looks more brown reddish. Chocolate shrimp more black. Never see before this color. I also wonder what is this.

still learning the hard way!!
Bro, from my experience, I have this coloration whenever that shrimp is about to die... I notice a few pieces of my fire red and Sakura was changing into this color, and after that the shrimp will myteriously die within a week...
Been awhile since i last kept shrimps/ fishes, please give me your kind guidance!
Same. I used to pick these when I buy thinking they're darker...
but if they are like this in a shop, they normally don't live very long after that.
I do have a few that turned into this color after being in my tank a long time. They didn't die but I noticed they stopped becoming berried and are generally less active.
wah sianz....so is sign of old age...I still thought I had gotten a new species=P
Could just be stress too. Some parts are abit transparent right?
Kaen, do keep posting for update on any changes. =)
Haha, still same color and doing fine.
a friend of mine bought with me together, he also got a few maroon sakura. He's also doing fine=P
Colourful uncle sells the "maroon" shrimps, when i saw them in his shop back then, many of them were berried and some had shrimplets swimming around in the same bag. All seemed to be doing fine...
its like the ones shown in the pic above. not sure if their colour is due to stress or water parameters...i find the interesting too, but still prefer the brighter red or orangey ones...
