    Hello Brothers,

I just started a new 2ft tank to keep Fire Red, at the same time have some plants inside the tank. It is cycling now.

I have Japanese Hairgrass on the forefront, and another plant which I am not able to ID as mid-ground. It is spongy feel and hope that is a aquatic plant. I have a DW with Taiwan Moss as well.

Can brothers help to ID the plant please?? It is started to melt after 1 week. I bought the plant from Pasir Ris aquatic plant farm after telling uncle I am running the tank without CO2 but with light. I have a 2ft 24W x 2 T5 light and 24/7 fan to keep temperature at 26C. Substrate is GEX Red Soil ( shrimps and Plant ).

Thank you brothers for your help to ID and Wishing Each and Everyone a Happy New Year.

    Thank you, David.

One question, is iron deficiency indicated by leaves turning yellow?

yes, yellow areas on leaves may be signs of lack of iron....

if yellow on tips and edges should be potassium, upper leaves light green lower leaves yellow should be nitrogen.

also, do note to cut away the yellow leaves, gives the plants some times to grow again, as they need time to adapt. Like humans, they need nutrients like nitrogen, potassium and iron, and the plants you got can survive on temperature around 22 to 28 degrees, moderate lights enough.
It does not require co2, but with co2 can allow them to grow faster, like encourage them.

    Thanks a lot, David.

I am dozing the tank with Seachem Flourish Excel for CO2, Lush and Essense K ( both from BorneoWild ). I hope these are sufficient.
