    Re: chiller?

    Hi Bro

If budget is a constraint, you can try the chinese brands like Hailea and Resun. These brands normally come with half year warranty.

If you willing to spend, i would recommend brands like Artica or Teco which comes with 2 years warranty. Do bear in mind, using chiller will also increase your electricity bills.

Hang-on cooling fan is another alternative, but it usually cannot achieve the desired 24 - 25degrees in our climate. Using fan will also have a faster evaporation rate on your tank water.

Do remember to google or research up the threads in AQ to have an idea of the different requirements for the different kind of shrimps. These will help you in your setup.

At the end of the day, you should choose what is best for you. Shrimping is a wonderful experience.

    Re: chiller?

Depending on what kind of shrimps you are keeping.
If you are keeping shrimps like Sakura/Fire Red, you do not need a chiller.

Your tank size will determine the type of chiller you are going to get.

If you are really into keeping the high end shrimps, be prepare to spend $500 and above just for the initial setup.
