Microwave it and let it cool down to room temperature. Once they lose moisture they will become stiff again. Alternative is to place a small pack of desiccant, like those packets you get from cracker bags etc to absorb the moisture.
If a packet of pellets or flakes is opened to too long it will soften.
How are ways to drive out the moisture and freshen the food again?

Probably another method is to store inside dehumidifier cabinet. (camera cabinet).
I put mine in the fridge. Not sure if it helps freshen though... but should keep it fresh longer.
I pour a small portion of it into a film cannister and use that to feed my fish. The rest I keep in a cool dry place, sealed in the ziplock bag they came with.
