If you're looking to customize a metal rod bent into a light stand, so long as you have the dimensions you want, you can get metalworking stores to do it for you. When I had my light stands made last year, it was by a company known as Hup Seng metal. You can email [email protected] or call them at the following numbers: +65 6456 3066 / +65 6456 3067 /+65 6456 2084 (taken from their website http://www.hupsengmetal.com). I think my total cost to get 2x L shape rods (6ft height, 1.5ft for the bent portion = total 7.5ft rod + bending) was under $50 if my memory serves me well.

It's going to cost more than that now. I just had mine done with them. I had to send them drawings and went there physically to explain to them how the pipe should be bent. Did that twice and they still got it wrong. So far for 2 bend and 8 feet SS pipe has cost me 45 dollar each. I think they will get it right the 3rd time but I can't be arse to do a 3rd one....
