    Hi all brothers and sisters,

Currently i have a 2250 eheim canister filter. I have a few queries which i need some advice from all.

    1) if i replace my 1253 pump with a 1260 pump, will it be workable?

    2) the inlet and outlet pipes require a 25/34mm and 12/16mm hose respectively. Can i use a reducer for the 2 pipes to make it both 16/22mm so that i only use one type of hose for the inlet an outlet? Will the flowrate be reduced?

    Thank you in advance.

    1) yes u can change the pump model to achieve a higher flowrate.
    2) going by hydraulic calculations, the flowrate is the same but the pressure would be altered. not advisable to change the hose sizes.
