    Hi All,

I'm a beginner on planted tank and is currently trying to set up a planted tank with some ranchu goldfish...

Problem is I've heard that plants and goldfish do not get along well; as the goldfish tends to treat the plants as a snack...

The plants that I have on hand are frogbits, salvinias, German seaweed and hornworts. Does any of these plants need additional CO2, fertilizers and light? How to prevent the goldfish from eating them?

    Please advice...

I have heard that placing large pebbles around the roots of plants (in the gravel) can help to prevent the goldfish from uprooting them. However it obviously does not work for floating plants, so I cannot help much there.

A no no. Unless you really have a lot of plants like java ferns or Anubis or plenty of moss. Or sometimes the goldfish is nice enough not to eat all at once. Hehe.
