Happy lunar New Year (LFS opening timing)

Hello AQ forum members,

happy chinese new year in advance.

sorry to open new thread here, but would like to see if any members know the opening dates of our beloved LFS(s).

eg.
- C328 Auntie+Uncle combi
- GC
- Y618
- PetMart

as i will only be back during cny period, hope to plan my appointments nicely to pay each a visit during my 1wk back home with family and friends.

Greetings from Malaysia
After six months waiting, finally chinese new year is coming and i could find a day to visit fish shop in SG.
My friend highly recommend me to visit C328 at clementi.
Since my plan to visit is on 26 Jan, i guess petmart is out of list.

Do you guys have any other recommendation? i have one day for site seeing fish shop at SG

I found that Green Chapter is opening on 26 January.
Location is almost same with C328, at clementi.
Any other fish shop nearby that area?
Maybe someone can compile the list? sorry i never been to any fish shop in SG.

Polyart is along the same row as C328. No other LFS in that area (AFAIK) since Colorful closed down. You can probably check to see if Seaview or the farms at Pasir Ris will be open. If you have time, visiting the farms at Lim Chu Kang might be worthwhile as well.

Not sure, best to call them in advance to confirm. Even if it's closed, you won't miss much since C328 is like a one-stop shopping paradise. Do you have a list of items you are looking for?

To go to Seaview via public transport you can take the MRT to Yio Chu Kang and switch to a bus service. I forgot the number but it should go via Jalan Kayu. You have to stop outside at Jalan Kayu and walk in. Often I find the biggest problem when going to these farms is the presence of stray dogs, and walking in the hot sun..

If you have time maybe you can visit Qian Hu Fish Farm. Again, no idea if they're open. I seldom visit LFS during the CNY period because most of them can be closed for up to 2 weeks.

not really specific things i wanted to buy.
but i am highly interested to survey sulawesi shrimps as i never seen it before in Malaysia.
i heard that SG sulawesi shrimp is very cheap compare to malaysia.

You'll probably be able to see at least C. dennerli at C328, but they're kept in puny tanks. Not sure about other LFS though. Price-wise, comparison with Malaysia, I have no idea. In fact I don't even know where to start looking if I was in Malaysia.

Malaysia planted tank equipment prices are much higher compare to SG, dont need to purposely come over for viewing.. lol~
Johor, KL, and Penang each has some planted tank shops, but most of them are not really professional.
I went to HK during 2011 Christmas, planted tank shop over there is sooooooo much better than Malaysia.
i will post another review here once i visited Sg's

Post more reviews of the LFS in Malaysia. Might pay a visit next time I go up north. I normally only go to Melaka, since that is where my relatives are. Never really saw much LFS in Bandar Melaka.

Urmph, i not familiar with Melaka. i dont think there is any professional planted tank shop over there.
About KL, i can point out a few fish shop has more planted tank.
i would say they are professional.... until i went to HK and saw how they manage planted tank shop. lol ~

Is there anything in particular that you are looking for? Equipment? Livestock? Different shops are good for different stuff.
