    hi unicorn,

    thanks for the info...

btw discovered my 3.5" pigeon laid eggs on my filter inlet pipe two days ago in my two feet planted tank, quite surprised as i thot it was suppose to be a young adult...

the q is: how long do the eggs hatch?? looked at the eggs and found them to be transparent with black dots in the centre, so does this mean they are fertilized??

    cheers

    Hi Bulldog,

Thanks for the compliment ! The leopard you had will grow up to look like the fish in my uplloaded pics picture's 1 & 2.

Cheers and have fun with your fished !!

    Hi Aqua,

As for eggs hatching for discus...the book says 72 hours, mine took about 2 days to 3.5 days... Therefore no hard and fast rule. That again, I let them breed in the planted tanks...May varies with the environment they lives in.

Okay, Immediately after laying the eggs, small percentage will be opaque...aka not fertilised. 24 hours later, more will be opaque and ....subsequent until hatching. Don't judge the egg numbers immediately after its mating, the best is wait till they're hatched. In another words, they could be fertilised in the begining, but due to water quality, things can happened ie, eggs starts to grow cotton like stuff, etc...That again, the rule above changes when you have a controlled environment for the pair to breed.

What ever is advised are based on my personal experience. Therefore, they will be many others that will beg to differ from what is being said..

    Hope this helps

    Cheers..

Hi Unicorn, I just purchase another 9 more 3 inch size discus(4 Turq and 5 Pigeon Blood). I put it into the Planted Tank after about 1 day of quarantine. They seems to be ok. Once I got the pic, I will send it to you to take a look. Then maybe you can advice if there is anything wrong.

    Thanks
