Hi gid, nice update! You sure you noob? really loving your scape. One question: Where you get your sakura shrimps? Thank you.

Hey uorme, yes im really noob, u can track my message history and see the stupid qns i was asking just 3 months back...haha
I got mine from c328, pack of 5. I think that's the best place, it's cheap, and top quality. They are true-sakura grade, the 'painted-red' type, and make sure u look out for the packets that already come with shimplets!

Time to trim your moss

Advice from boss Felix

Thank you gid. Got to look out for the sakura shrimps when i am there![]()

Ignatius: I got the flame moss from sam aquarium at marine parade; but im sure you can get it cheaper elsewhere
Zibbie: Do read up on tank cycling. Anyway, im not so pro to the extent of using test kits etc, so i made up for it by playing safe with a longer cycling period. I had my tank running with plants for one month before adding just a 5 tetras, and continued with only the 5 tetras for another 2 months and added my shrimps only when i was sure my tank was fully matured. In all, 3 months before I added shrimps.

Update: I have given my Silver Tetras away and added 6 lamp-eyed killifish (the ones with blue eyes).
Do you think they will do well with shrimps? I see them trying to chase my shrimplets sometimes, but they never come to the point of eating them. I also don't know why, but I already had two that died when they jumped out of my tank.

you must have done a lot of research before setting up this beautiful tank

Nice tank! The glosso are really doing well, forming a nice carpet for the shrimps. Do you dose any liquid ferts?

Wow! I just went through this whole thread and it is amazing how you have grown as an aquascaper!
Great job!
Just a suggestion?
How about removing everythingnon the left side (that little bit of plants on the left is distracting)
Let the Glosso carpet the entire foreground thickly.
Maybe you can get a tiny piece of thin driftwood and tie a bit of flame moss trimmings on it and place it in front of the bigger piece so that you get a terrace effect.
5 feet planted discus tank, turquoise, melon, leopard, blue diamond. Two 1 feet Shrimp tanks with FRS & CRS.

Here's an update after a major overhaul cos I felt the tank was getting too cluttered. I have:
* Removed most of my flame moss cos it was overgrowing. I have tied some on a long thin piece of DW (15 x 2 cm) to try to create a thin wall of moss behind, not growing yet
* Added a new piece of DW that juts out of the water
* Removed all stem plants
