java fern and moss
Hi AQ,
I'm sorry if i am posting in the wrong forum, but i need some help regarding my plants. i am not sure what type of plant to put in my 1ft cube tank with 2 bettas and standard filter and aeration. I may be using a mini clip on light soon, what plants/moss should i put![]()
java fern and moss
still learning the hard way!!
As in any type of moss? Java, Xmas, ball etc.
Java moss is the most common and arguably least demanding, so you would want to start with that.
Anubias are good choices are well, though they are slightly more costly, and grow quite slowly.
nanas, java ferns, java mosses.......
Pelia did well for me, Duckweed grew in heaps in a tank that i had without chiller or CO2. i have seen non-CO2 tanks with fissidens, beautiful but boy do they cost much.
Continuous effort- neither strength nor intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential
e tennulus, hygrophilia polysperma, hygrophilia difformis
Hairgrass, US fissiden and nana is good.
I never had much success with mini and us fissidens in low-tech tanks and I have largely attributed the reason to non chiller cool waters.
Rotalla najean, water hysop, java moss, windelov fern, e tennelus, riccia, duckweed, nana... All these grew like mad in my 1 feet low tech tank
Now I'm trying glosso, hope it works.
Low tech plant are limited and generally not as beauty you might want to consider having co2 and good light setup
Learning the hardway, not the highway.
