    Hello,

I bought my CO2 tank to this gas company and they are offering 2 different types of C02 gas. One is an industrial grade and the other is food grade.

The food grade cost $10 more than industrial grade, can someone tell me what is the difference? Also, which type should I use?

    Thanks

Should be food grade. My guess it contain less of other gases or minerial inside, just like the CO2 they use to make aerated drinks.

This is my guess only as CO2 is basically 2 carbon atom and 1 oxygen atom. So why should a dif between food and industrial grade. Thus the guess of impurities.

    use food grade co2.
industrial grade has lower purity, which means there will be other gasses as well.
think the purity difference will be a couple of %.

Which grade is our tank filled with when we first purchase it?

The LFS which I go to is charging $15 for a 1-1 exchange(3.5L) while the gas company is charging $30 for food grade CO2(refill takes 2-3 days).

Mostly industrial grade. Personally I use industrial grade without much ado. It's alot cheaper. Food grade are those used in 7-11 for the coca-cola dispensers, thence, human consumption.

I just got my tank back from Sealico. Very prompt service. As usual, I got them to top my tank with food grade CO2.

Home pick up and delivery. Though you have to pay transportation charges but it is well worth it.
