Day 58
Hello everyone,
This is my first real post after the intro and I thought I'd share one of my tanks. Its a 60x30c36cm Iwagumi Style which many of you know was made famous by Takashi Amano. Anyway, after lots of research I decided to try my hand in it and this is what I came up with. Of course, please keep in mind that I was limited in the rocks I could get. What do you think?
Day 1 planted on 27/11/2011 (Excuse the picture quality as it was shot on my iphone)

Closer up![]()
And from another angle
I will list the more info on the tank setup, plants and fish later, but for now Im off to bed.
Cheers!
Your location is Japan, you should not have problem getting rocks
Yes. True, but the great rocks are expensive.....Heh, Im cheap.![]()
i like the look of the "messy" foreground.....very natural. Thanks for the inspiration.
I don't know, but is there another face of the rock on the left that you could have portrayed?
wow i like your scape!
Yes, here is a previous Iwagumi Attempt using the same rocks.
You can see the large rock on the left has a large grove in it which may or may not be desirable...Also it leaned a bit too forward to my liking. Also on the bottom, you can see a a cave like opening. If I faced it to the right, and leaned it back, it wouldve expose it too much and i thought it didnt look particularly good. At the end, I really just wanted a change.....In an another attempt I might put it back the other way.![]()
Almost forgot....Here is more information for those who might be interested.
