hailea hx-6520 hose connectors

I recently bought the hx-6520 and the hose connectors are 16mm ID instead of the more common 12mm ID. Did any of you manage to locate hose connectors that is compatible with the pump?

I can always use a 16mm->12mm ID hose step down but that means I need to get 16mm ID hoses. I am trying to avoid having to do this.

My bad. The 12mm ID hoses can fit. It seems my hoses have harden. New hoses fits, albeit tightly.

Friend of mine shared a trick with me: heat the hose slightly till it expands and softens before inserting them.

Heat the hose using hot water, not directly over an open heat source.
