I am thinking of setting up a vivarium, in a 1ft cube tank. The tank will be half water, half land

Looking for plant that is low demanding to be planted in land part and not reaching height of 15cm. any suggestion?

It depends on your set up. Most aquatic plants can be used. If stronger light is present, Echis are quite undemanding. Else, Java Fern, Nanas.

Lobelia sp. can also be used.

Ypu can try the 'swamp plants' from the Alternanthera family or the Dracanena family, which are commonly mistakenly sold as aquatic plants and eventually rot underwater.

Only way is to keep them tied on pieces of driftwood or rocks to be placed in the land section. They must be kept moist.

    Re: recommendation of vivarium plant

I have always use this plant, Ophiopogon japonica "Kyoto" with great success. Oriental plant catalogue number is WP365. I have used it on peat moss and ADA African with no issue. They also have a taller variety: Ophiopogon japonica number is WP189. Taller plant will reach about 30 cm in height. The former will max out at 12 cm.

    Regards.

I usually get them direct from the farms. Alternatively, you may place your order from LFS by using the codes that I gave.
