    i am interested in starting a low tech planted tank...low tech for me means no need chiller, the best is no need soil as well...

    is this possible....i dont need my plant to grow, as long as dont die off can already.

    get those plants that are tied on wood at lfs...mine has no soil as well, but i do use excel and liquid ferts. very slow growth though

    moss, nana, java fern and etc. for these plant you just have to type them onto a rock or a wood and they will be able to thrive and they require low light and low maintenance as well.

    The minimum you need is a light set and good water flow. Get the plants mentioned above. You are pretty much restricted to those few.
