I keep Crypto Wendtii tropical and brown and Crypto parva in a 2 feet tank together with other plants in my signature below. Somehow, my crypto is growing really very very slowly as compared to others. I compared the picture I taken months ago and now, it is like they never grow tall at all but they did spread a little bit horizontally.
My Hygrophila grow like crazy and the Hirsuta and hairgrass also grow very fast.
Is there anything I can do to make the Crypto grow faster vertically or spread widely?
I am using ADA2 soil and AQ T5 4*24, without CO2 but regular macro and micro ferts.

Crypts are slow plants, especially C. parva. Crypts spread very slowly. Hygrophila, Hirsuta and Hairgrass are very fast growing plants. Perfectly normal, nothing wrong with your plants.

To help your crypts, get some root fertiliser for rosette plants for them. Get those in capsule, ball cluster, etc form that you can insert into the substrate. But you might find that they will simply grow more leaves and more plants near themselves and maybe taller. They will not spread more.

To spread crypts, you need to uproot them and replant. I.e. manually spread them out. Warning... VERY messy affair. Turn off your filter when you uproot crypts because their dense and deep roots will pull up the substrate. Remove tank water change after uprooting, especially near the uprooted area to siphon out the uprooted dirt. Replant before topping up the tank again.

When you replant, spread them over the entire area you want to cover.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Vincent, thanks for the detailed help to due with my seemingly stagnant-growing crypts. Look like I have to manually remove them and replant them to achieve the wide-spread look. Thanks again.
