I was actually comparing between a $350 and a $70 shrimp....
Indeed there a diff for sure.....
But end up choosing a low grade...
Spend too much on set up and equiments..
That was exactly what I was going to ask in my first post, but I thought it wasn't polite to bring up the subject then.
I was in Hong Kong and managed to have a look at some of the shops with "branded" shrimps. I also tried to appraise their worth relative to each other and was rather perturbed that a $400HKD tank looked very close to a $900HKD tank, so close, that they almost are identical.
One Shop keeper says it was graded by the breeder.
Of course, I did find the $1400HKD and above tanks noticeably more eye catching in the thickness and thoroughness of the color coverage. However, I also noted that even in those tanks there were strangely faded or badly tinted specimens, likely made more obvious by the fact that most of the other better ones had already been sold. How did the breeder make such QC mistakes?
I soon realized that the shops I found were already at the end of their stocks. Very few shrimps are left in most tanks. The top grades costing more than $5000HKD are sold out and I wondered if people were that generous with their spendings, or the stock was very few to begin with.
It may be possible to compare a $70 and a $350 shrimp. But when faced with many many shrimps in $70 & $350 tanks, all of them having different looks and qualities, can you still tell? If so, how?

Bro navanod, I don't know where bro bai get his crimson prl, but as for mine I travel to hong kong and bring in myself. Right now I only got all cramp up in a small 2ft tank with 5 satellite breeding box all in one tank. Due to my Shrimp HBD crash, resetting now. Ya as I know it from Japan it because when I visit them the shipment just came in and it state it from Japan.

Veggie got me curious as I just came back from Hong Kong but didn't see any Crimson there. Think I missed that last shop after the wife pulled me out of the place for drooling at $1400HKD shrimps.
She was very certain that they'll die on the plane if I buy any. Haha!

i think sometimes even the top grade shrimps can loose colour due to unknown reasons? so cannot blame the person who did the grading?
