Posted this on other forum as well, just share along calculation on monthly electric bill

Do note effect from 1 Jan 2012, the electricity tariff for households will be 27.59 cents per kWh.

    Follow this formula
    https://services.spservices.sg/image...pdf/HomeEA.pdf

Take note above pdf is based on $0.2356 per kwh.
You should change to $0.2759 per kwh instead.

    Re: Calculate your electric bill

Hi bro out there hope you can help me clarify this question.

For example my hailea 28a is 240 watt..
Do i use 240watt multiply by 24 hour? When the chiller does not kick in that often..

    ^ , 240w divide 1000 = 0.24 Kwh then 0.24 x 24 = 5.76/day , 5.76 x 30 = 172.8/month , then 172.8 x 0.2759 = $47.67552 / month you have to pay =D

this number is valid if the chiller is running non-stop 24/7.
if the chiller runs for 7hrs out of 24hrs, then multiply by 7/24.

even though you switch on your chiller for 24 hours, it does not consume significant power as long as the compressor motor is not running. for simplicity, you can treat this period ínactivity as not consuming any electricity.
you need to sum up or estimate the total number of hours which the compressor is running. use this figure to calculate the electricity bill.

    Re: Calculate your electric bill

You should get a kill-a-watt device to know how much electricity your chiller uses.

You then calculate that value. That's the true approximate charge.

You cannot calculate based on chiller rated consumption and multiply for a month.

That only means your chiller continuosly compressing for 24/7 non stop, which we know it is not happening.
