I'm sure we are bound to face this problem once or several times just by keeping inverts itself.

Nevertheless, i suppose these problems would happen more to sulawesi shrimps. I've suffered a casualty of just one cardinal shrimp having molting problem. It managed to rid of the old shell, yet the new one developing under was fragile and weak, legs were not properly developed, " pincers " were short and almost undeveloped as well. This occured in a tank where other fellow cardinals have molted sucessfully and are developing very well.

Hence, thought this discussion would help anyone keen in sulawesi, ( myself too ) to understand why some shrimps fail to molt.
Seems like the reasons i've read up on failed molting are :
- Too much protein in diet.
- Big waterchange prior to molting
- Fellow shrimps attacking the molting shrimp
- Stress
- Lack of hiding places/ Stuff to cling on to.
- Water parameters. Hardness/Calcium either too much or insufficient.

I think only 1 or 2 of the above is true
