I recently did a 1ft HC dsm but failed and been breeding flys, therefore I had to choice but to abandon the dsm and went for another type of plant.

    Light - T5 17w on 8hrs daily
    Ferts - Ada Step1,Bright K-light,Florish excel. 1 press/1cap per week.
    Temp 27-28 (Gex M Fan)
    Filter - Gex slim S.

So basically it's quite a low tech tank.

    Here some Pic.

    current plants
    Dwarf Hairgrass

    branches - mini pelia
I was thinking of a moss to tie on the branches of the tree. I thought of using mini pelia because it will grow to a rounded shape and has smaller fronds. So as to look like a bonsai.

    trunks - mini fissiden
I thought of using mini fissiden to tie on the lower part of trunk to make it have more class.

    rocks.
i do not really like the looks of the black lava rocks and would want to take it out of the scape. but might look abit too much hairgrass if there is no rocks? any suggestion?

    back - suggestions for plants?
I felt the back of the scape is too bare but I still thinking if I should use dwarf hg to cover the back too. maybe some needle leaf fern?

right infront of the tree - crypto wendtii 'tropica'
I seen some tropica being alittle reddish and dark brown in color. would add abit more character to the scape.

My most dilemma is the rocks and the back of the scape. Would love some suggestion.

You have beautiful wood, why not leave it as it is. Plants more hairgrass, cover the entire soil and let the mini pelia grow. You might want to change mini pelia to mini Christmas moss, mini pelia are quite fragile. You might also want to break your rocks into smaller pieces.

Haha that's was my intiate plan before I let my mind go Gaga haha. I guess I stick with mini pelia/mini Christmas moss on the branch and dwarf hg. Thanks for your advice, will see how it goes. Might find smaller rocks or break it haha

My idea is very simple if you have beautiful woods or rocks, why not expose its greatness as much as possible.

shadow, this boy think too much...
IMHO more HG and smaller clumps.. your rocks are dwarfing the nice wood & stealing attention from it.

about small rocks... IT'S HAMMER TIME !
