Ammonia spike? Sudden change in water conditions, stress from the tank redecoration, disturbance of the substrate releasing trapped gases (which can be deadly to these shrimp) and a whole host of other possible reasons. Perhaps you might want to check your water chemistry aside from pH, because if your filter was sitting stagnant during the redesign period with water trapped within, then you just released a dose of lethal ammonia into your tank, from all the dead bacteria left in the filter. If anything, I believe your tank is re-cycling back from square 1, and hence is unsafe for shrimp at the moment.

I hope you'll refrain from using SMS short form or lingo in the forums, just a friendly reminder.

oh, so do i have to change the whole tank again or just let it run for few more days?
i think it was because of my filter. i totally forgot about it during the change ..

Thank you very much for pointing these factors to me, cheers

When you stir a tank alot of stuff is release from the soil below it is better to let your tank settle in before you release them back.

Maybe you should let the water settle down with your soil first then condition your shrimp with the water. One of my shrimp died last night when i transfer it immeidately from one tank to another. Therefore, my suggestion is to let them get use to whatever water in the new tank first.

I only know if theres something wrong with the water, they'll be very actively trying to get break out of the water surface.

Either this or your shrimps just stay quiet at one corner not moving at all (As in the legs are not constantly picking up stuff)
You should observe them for about a day or two. They might need some time to get use to new water.
