You transfer them better, because microworms will burrow into the soil. In fact I wouldn't keep them in GEX soil tanks. They prefer more alkaline water, and too soft they may not thrive for long.
My red lace give birth today morning. They are in my 40cm cube tank, with Gex soil, ehiem 2213, boxwood with mosses.....
i wonder should i transfer them to bare tank, using current water, running with sponge filter is better???
Why because will be feeding them micro worms....

Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Move the fry to a separate smaller container, along with the water from the tank. As stormhawk has said, microworms will burrow into the soil if left uneaten and the fry can access to the food easily in a small container but be careful though, because overfeeding can easily contaminate the water, so have a wad of moss or fern and some snails to help out with the leftover food and make sure you are diligent with water changes.
If your primary objective is to breed guppies, keep them in a bare bottom tank, which is easier to maintain as I find with breeding fishes.![]()

Cheap tank is no use if it is not properly cycled before placing the guppy fry in it.

using old tank water now.. all fries now in it... no signs of death for 3 days...... good...
David, another option is to use the Sudo Satellite Box M or L so that it can run off the parents tank. That way you don't have to worry about filtration.
