I feel that to get into the top-500 positions in ADA competition is very easy. (Don't believe take a look at the last few positions of the 2003 competition; there was a tank with few plants and big goldfish. I doubt the plant was rooted more than 7 days before the shot was taken). So how about sending in our tank pic no matter how you feel it looks? Especially digital shot is allowed this year.

If more from Singapore participate then we can put Singapore 'on the map'.

But first I must get my log to sink. It's been more than 2 weeks now..

ADA - THE INTERNATIONAL AQUATIC PLANTS LAYOUT CONTEST 2004

By the way, I remember last yeaar, it cost some money to participate if I am not wrong. Does anyone know if it is the same this year? I do not see any mention of having to pay $XXX this year on their posters and application form.

Lorba, actually, i love trimming my bolbitis as well and find that after a heavy trimming, their rate of growth accelerate on a whole. The new leaves are also the nice translucent green. To those who does not know, it ia actually possible to trim off all the leaves on a rhizome, and the plant would still throw out new leaves. I have seen it happen in a fish shop. The owner trimmed and left only the rhizome. About 3 weeks later, small new leaves covered the driftwood. I have since tried, and can testify that it works. though, if you are risk averse, leave a growing shoot to make sure.

I just emailed the organiser and got reply very quickly.

    Confirm no joining fee.
He said we can also combine our entries in one CD.

You got 4 months to get your tanks ready. Should have ample time. Go for it!

    Re:

I suggest AQ consolidate all entries and send them in in one CD as suggested by Juggler. This way, we can ensure all entries get to the organiser promptly.

The entry form says one picture per layout.
But in the past, I remember that they will select the best tank of all those you submit for final competition.
So, in the end, it's still one entry per person in the final round.

I've fixed the english entry form and cropped it properly so it prints well.
The original one was done pretty badly, wasn't centered and doesn't fit.

How's the group submission getting on?

I heard no one submit anything to Juggler yet. My tank should be ready by 1st week April. I know it's cutting it abit close, no choice, trimmed the red tiger and glosso at the wrong time and now getting the six puny new red tiger leaves and glosso to grow. Imagine, looking at them every morning and saying "faster, faster!" "#@*X<" excuse me!

I think latest date to post the entries is 2 weeks before the closing date? end April so you guys better hurry up! I know there are great looking tanks out there...
