What kind of lighting is suitable for CRS,BDS or BKK PANDA?

Hey guys, just wanna know wat kinda of lighting is suitable for keeping shrimp like CRS BDS or BKK?? Does lighting matter? If so which is better LED or T5??

It depends on the depth of your tank. If it is too deep, i think T5 is better as LED cant really penetrate. If you have a one feet tank with a shorter height, you can use LED. Save energy and really make your time very nice. Please correct me senior if i am wrong .

I'm using the UP Aqua LED and my tank is 1.5ft height. No problems

I myself and I believe most of the bro here uses T5...

As for the color of the light tube...I came across one of the hobbyist said the tube color will affect the whiteness of the shrimp. As he had experience keeping his Pure Red Line using T8 warm color which produce yellowish lights. And the yellowish lights has actually affect the whiteness of the body resulting a yellowish tint.
I read This article from a Taiwan Forum.

Wondering if it is true???

Prof Navanod...any G.K you would like to en-lighten us if this really happen????

Lighting can affect the colour of your shrimp, have a look at silane's blog here, he posted this almost 2 years plus ago.

I think I'll try both I've got led lighting from beamworks, maybe later on I'll try out t5 and see how it goes.

Erm, I'm not a prof, not even a phd.

The shrimps couldn't care less what technology is providing illuminations, they only detect the brightness and color spectrum of the lights.
I stick to cool white lights (6500K and above) and as long as the brightness is good enough to see & grade the shrimps with, that's good enough for me.

While its true that shrimps can and will adjust their colors and intensity of their colors to suit the lighting, background colors and brightness of the environment, it varies so much amongst different shrimps that I would not dare to provide comments on this topic.
