I just bought from C328. They said is dragon fish and can grow to a much bigger size. I searched on google for more information on how to keep this but there's so many other "dragon fish" that came out in the search results.

What feeder fish can i feed it with? Its currently only about 2 inch long.

Ralliart's ID is spot on - Polyterus ornatipinnis.

You might want to view this page for info.
    http://www.polypterus.info/p_ornatipinnis.htm
http://www.polypterus.info/keeping_polypterus.htm <-- basic care for Polypterus aka Bichirs

At that size, feeding it feeder fish may not be suitable. Try FBW instead and you can switch to young feeder guppies at a later stage when it is much bigger.

thanks guys! now i've got 4 of them in my 2.5 feet tank.. hope i wouldnt be too crowded when they grow larger.. i released a packet of feeder last night (dunno what fish) the normal white bichirs seems to be more ferocious and chomps them up, whereas the spotted ones just ignores them and continue feeding on the bloodworms.

I've also added sand. hope they like their new habitat.

The stainless steel cave doesn't hurt your bichir?

    P. senegalus and P. ornatipinnis, nice, but you might want to get a bigger tank over time because the ornatipinnis do get large.

i dont know.. the steel mesh wasnt suppose to be a cave.. its just covering my water pump.. I'll try to get some yamato to see if my bichir will eat them. if they dont, then hopefully the yamatos will help to cleanup the leftover bloodworms.

Why waste the Yamato? Get those feeder ghost shrimp. They make great scavengers + prey animals in a predatory tank.

Your Yamato will be a quick meal for bichir. Expensive snack for them
