    Re: Cloudy water

You must be patient if this is a new tank as cycling can take a fair bit of time in most cases. Cloudiness caused by bacteria blooms, takes awhile to disappear and will gradually become clearer as the filter matures. If your cloudiness was caused by the substrate, especially if you had used some fine sand, or did not wash your gravel beforehand, then this might take awhile to clear. You can use a prefilter with fine filter wool to trap any larger particles, and use water changes to get rid of the remaining fine sediment.

However, without more details on your tank, like substrate, tank size, how many fish etc, are not given, it is very hard to determine what is the problem in this case. If you can provide those details it will be easier to help you.

oh wait, you mentioned you put a medicine for your discus before this happened, what medicine was it? seems to me like the medicine might have killed all your beneficial bacteria. perhaps others could shed some light on this.

okay, never tried that medication before. did a read up and its for HITH right? (hole in the head disease) also read that it will kill ALL bacteria, including good ones. basically, your tank has been reset. (based on what i read)

i suggest you add an air pump for now till someone comes up with a solution for you. and instead of changing 95% of water, do changes of 50% with aged water. you might like to tone down on Co2 injection as well. let the fish live in a more stable environment first.
