can know you photoperiod and bps?
if you don't plant deep emough, they float up before getting a grip.
a few of the bros use a slightly shorter photoperiod in the initial 1-2 weeks.

coming to 1 week after flooding.
a few concerns, HC seems to be growing upwards instead of sideways. Lighting should not be a problem since i am using 4x24w T5ho 6.5k.
And signs of hair algae on a few strands of my HC. What would be the cause of it?

eh i did plant most hc deep in with a few leaves expose.
photoperiod 6 hours per day with 2+ bps. I can understand some melting do occur as the leaves are going from emerse to submerge, just not sure why is it growing upwards.
I read online that HC growing upwards is that they are searching for co2 not lights. so my co2 not enough?? I need to upped my bps??

Where you read that? Observe another week then decide.
Btw no livestock yet right?

wah nice setup and makes me even want to expediate my own plant tank soon. I am still thinking if to setup a 2ft or 3ft and total in all till now how much have you spent on this project.

I read it somewhere from another thread posted recently. Dont remember where.
Yeah no livestock at the moment. Not intend to add till 1 month later. Guess i will monitor it for now.
Thanks. Stil lgot much to learn from others here. Get poison so we all can see your new tank
Tank and cabinet itself already close to 600. Range around 900 include tank and everything.

Apart from the money spent, this hobby requires a great expenditure of time and effort, plus a lot of sacrifice of other things, not to mention perhaps also likely silent objection from close ones.
But a hobby is a hobby. It can provide great pleasure.
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!

Day 16
Order online some fert from US and got it via mail today.
An update on my tank. A good thing is my HC is spreading now. Whew.
Seems like my Lidwigia Arcuata is fading as it is not getting enough lights. Once i shifted my light fixture, the new leaves are turning red. Guess either i need to add a new 2x24w light just at the back or getting a new light fixture which is wide enough to penetrate the plants at the back. Any recommendations for any light fixture for a cube tank guys?

aye the $ 12.00 one? how much you paid (include shipping) ?
lidwigia once have rooted you might want to start snipping some off and replant them. When it's bushy enough it's damm nice...

Hey Felix bro, yes its the US$12/-, bought 2 packs shipping at US$18/- flat for anything below (4lbs?) i think. Per pack is 1lbs. I guess you know where to find the product. This could last me for years, i think its very much worth it.
Yes thats what i am about to do, snip and replant. But i need to get another 2x24w light fixture (seems like background plants are not getting enough lights) and a pair of scissors.

Other than is MMN ferts, what else do we still need to dose. k?

Thanks for the reply.
Now considering MMN aganist Lushgro. Postage maybe will just share with others to lessen the load..
For reference's sake MMN should be in 1 part each.
KNO3 + K2SO4 + MgSO4 + Plantex CSM + BJust provide a link to discussions over this
http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...trient-MixYour deeper tank need to split 2 x 2 tubes. just 1 single 4 tube lighting will be creating chaos + increase the algae already on your rocks

Hi felix bro.
So are you suggesting i scrape my current 4x24w and go for (2x24w)x2? Thought of just adding another 2x24w but worried it will be too much and promote algae growth.

I don't see any source of P, does CSM+B provide P?

You can find someone loan you?
4 x 24w should have switch controlling 2 tubes, no need scrap
I know some folks using 2 x (2x24w)

On the contrary, lack of P was reported cause of GSA.
If you read EI article, you should find fertilizer does not cause algae out break. In fact that the whole idea of EI
Would you deem phosphate to be necessary then (if so, does it mean her claim that P is abundant is invalid?) then, how would you recommend the supplementation of phosphate? because I'm using this mix as well, I hope to purchase a product that will specifically add k

All the macro nutrients are necessary. For example lack of P normally cause stunted growth, sometimes leaves become darker green, poor root growth, etc. You can add KH2PO4 for your P need.
