While some of us, set up a Shrimp tank or two.

The deeper poisoned ones, a Shrimp rack.

This guy. This guy, is building a shrimp room in his garage.

It's an ongoing project since this Feb 2012, really something epic in process, which I have to share with everyone here (AQ is my root of all evil)
Probably make us all drool in envy, and activate all the poison cells in our body.

    http://www.aquariumlife.com.au/showt...Racks-Project.

Mods please close this if its against the rules of AQ. Thanks!

Can one person seriously take care of that many tanks?
I'm having problem just tending to 1 tier of my tank and culling shrimps. But then again, I'm married

I see no exact rules against linking to other forums, and this thread is pretty simple as a sharing thread. Unless something dubious comes up, this thread need not be closed.

This is only a pipe dream for the majority of us who live in high rise housing. A good read though. At least the guy found out early that the racks wouldn't take the weight of the tanks.

I was actually going to use an Aussie branded rack "Hammersmart" that I saw at NTUC Extra.
Each tier was supposed to take up to 100kg but I decided to email the company to double confirm. Turns out they never actually distributed their racks to Singapore and the rack I saw was a knockoff! Either way, they told me not to use such racks for aquariums as they're not built to withstand the weight over time.

Please don't get confused and mixed up with my username. I only have 1 shrimp tank, not 1 room of shrimp tanks.

Lol, I got a shock too when I saw your name.

Damn, the more I read, its really not a shrimp room. Its a farm.

Whats more it'll be a pain to do maintenance on the sump tanks, let alone on all the water change haha. Next thing you know, "Actually I built a water tower outside my garage to age all my water, with an auto-top up system." Mother of shrimps.

Wah! Knock offs at NTUC Extra..

Even 100 kg per shelf is probably not enough for some tank sizes. Only those durable racking systems work, or a solid wooden stand like the one Eddy made. Everything else is no go.

Wow.... that's super big scale project plus deep pockets! His occupation just turned to a full-time shrimp breeder...
